Week 3 Term 2 Reflection

Word Work: This week for Word Work I did Meanings, Origins and Sentences.

Word Work Week 3 Term 2


Initiative
Meaning- The Power or opportunity to act or take charge before others do.  
Origin- French  
Sentence- Use your initiative to do the right thing.  

Mirage
Meaning- an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions, especially the appearance of a sheet of water in a desert or on a hot road caused by the refraction of light from the sky by heated air.
Origin- Latin
Sentence-  A Mirage is coming.

Propulsion
Meaning- The Action of driving or pushing forwards.
Origin- Medieval Latin  
Sentence- The Plane cannot leave the hangar until its propulsion is fixed.

Reminiscence
Meaning- A story told about the past event remembered by the narrator.  
Origin- Late Latin
Sentence-  In other cases early costumes are preserved only as a historical reminiscence at festivities.

Renege  
Meaning- Go Back on a promise, undertaking or contract.
Origin- Medieval Latin
Sentence- Although my father made a promise to extend my curfew, he later decided to renege upon his word and ordered me home by eleven.

Book Advertisement: This week on a google drawing we had to make a Advertisement on a book I choose Gangsta Granny.
